Left Upper Side On The Weist

snowflakes on the roofs of Mexico

who spends four months in Mexico, has an opportunity to know them: The "Queen of Mexico" even Virgen de Guadalupe or Virgin Guadalupe called. Instead of good in her to stay in honor basilica respectively, the dark-skinned Virgin Mary in the urban jungle and is omnipresent in her sun dress; between parked cars, stalls, electric lines, street signs, advertising on buses and taxis, on t-shirts, calendars and tattoos.

Stylistically, there are no limits to their presentation, ranging from folk art (arte popular), which has no perspective, to more than kitsch, comics through to graffiti in Chicanostil. The Miraculous showing yourself in the company of various saints and does not hesitate to front, are shown together with the "saints" of the drug mafia, Jesús Valverde.

so pulled the Guadalupe also in our lives. First, an arm bath for the children, then one for myself, keychains for the grandmother, T-Shirt for the loved ones. But I knew it would need after our return to Spain a holy shrine and began immediately to prepare him for: the maiden in the first petate, a traditional sleeping mat of the common people, and later to paint on cardboard. Preferred place: on the roof terraces of each property. - Created "Viva la Virgen!"

How Many Koleston Colours

How fish are brought to life

One morning I took a walk by the sea a little heap of small, silvery, shimmering fish scattered on the beach. Although the sardines had lost their life that was in the morning feeling a fascinating sight. I could not help it and picked it up, carried her home and sketched them, so they are not quite died in vain.

years later I was back on the beach, this time quietly with their legs in the water. A swarm of small, silvery shining fishes approached to get me to tickle on my calves. I had the desire to paint once this school of fish. The earlier sketch I used as a template for in a hurry, I found only a small format, but I still have a good mind, the fish one day on a giant screen in the well-deserved space to give.
Yet another school of fish waiting for his creation - but that's a different color and also another story that belongs to Mexico and I will tell the right time.

Paddle Tires For Sand Rails

air of mystery

The arrival of the new Lötschberg tunnel, as always, quite spectacular. The drive from leukemia with the car even more exciting to Leukerbad. Right off we went but after the gondola ride to the Gemmi (it was the way my idea, which must be said): Beautiful winter weather greeted us, the sun was shining, heat could be felt - oh what a joy!

The walk (10km) towards Kandersteg can not exactly be described as sports performance, but this was not necessary. We were already just there to enjoy the weather. Very nice.

went from "Sunnbüel"'s for a snack with a gondola down to Kandersteg, as no bus left (haha haha) we went to the village to the station - which are already 40 minutes ... Unfortunately, it was shady and freezing cold in comparison to the air on the pass! With an extra train, we went back to Bern by tram to the clock tower at the stop of the blue Bähndli.

early in the afternoon I knew that today is the day when the big moment has come ...

The Bähndli came creeping over the Church-span bridge and parked in the theater space.

today drove a woman, that is a Chauffeuse.

She graduated from the front cabin and left the car to run on the other side. I started it off and asked if I could ask you something, but it was a bit of a ridiculous question: whether the blue Bähndli could let down the sand. She answered with a devastating for my companion matter of course "Yes, of course, it would not otherwise, in the winter." I insisted, because if might "sand" all trams. This was also affirmed. So I went as a glorious winner in this bet. My companions were beaten, but made the Chauffeuse even aware that he had lost because of it just a bet.

It was pretty funny. For me.

Now I'm looking forward to dinner in a nostalgic tram. And how was that? If you have to pay, I will drink as much as I can and at the end extra smoke a cigar, even if I puke then must!

the great photos I've shot at the Gemmi, unfortunately I can not post because it is not I manage to extract the files my phone ...
